Roses have been part of peoples lives for thousands of years. (see history.)

Their colours, shape and often perfumes are particularly attractive to humans and many pollinating vectors that help colour our world.

Besides beauty and perfume in the garden or as cut flowers,rose petals and hips are also used in perfume, food and medical applications.

Evolution and breeding have resulted in great diversity. There are many forms and styles of flower and growth - from small miniature to very large bushes and climbers. There are roses suitable for many situations where they can enjoy sun and temperatures that are also comfortable for humans.
